Carmarthenshire’s secluded countryside is home to the Glynhir Golf Club. Beginning life in 1910 as a 9-hole course, it wasn’t until 1964 that the club was able to purchase land and then extend this to a full 18 holes in 1967. The clubhouse resides within a converted barn and the original structure can still be seen from within including the original wooden beam roof structure. The locker rooms, bar, lounge area and new conservatory area are all located on the ground floor providing a delightful setting for pre- or post-round drinks. Upstairs on the first floor is the restaurant that can provide anything from a snack to a three-course meal.
Offering some great views of the Carmarthenshire countryside, a testing parkland course and a quaint barn-converted clubhouse, Glynhir Golf Club comes is definitely one to try out when you are in South Wales.
