An interesting course layout provides ample opportunity for a good score whilst also supplying a good mix of hazards - both the water and the sand variety. Speaking of bunkers, the fairways have their fair share of them, along with heathland type deep rough, but are also quite wide and so a risk and reward game is well advised. The 10th green is divided by a river from the tee and so coming up short is not an option.
Brunston Castle Golf Club is located just over 7 miles from Girvan, easily accessible via the A77 & B741.
I have played Brunston Castle over a number of years. The course is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has numerous challenges throughout including water and elevation changes. For late October the course was in excellent condition. Some recent changes to the course, most notably reducing the par five 13th to a par 4 has improved the experience and I will certainly be returning again in the future.
