The mature parkland course at Aboyne Golf Club is well established and offers some of the best golf in the north-east of Scotland. It presents a great variation of golf ensuring the most is made out of the natural variations in the terrain, and consists of a mix of rolling parkland with inviting fairways and elevated links-like heathland with tighter targets. Mature trees and water come into play on many holes, with the Aboyne Loch being the most notable water hazard. The course benefits from sitting on free-draining soil and, with a surprisingly dry micro-climate, play is rarely stopped. The greens staff work very hard to ensure the course is well-maintained and shows little signs of wear.
Just 25 miles east of Aberdeen.
Have played many courses and Aboyne rates as one of the very best in our opinion. We had visited recently, didn't play the course but were very impressed by the look of it so decided to return and play. We were not disappointed! The course was in excellent condition, the holes were both challenging and very interesting - have never before played holes which were almost horse shoe shaped! The bar steward was exceedingly helpful and friendly and the catering staff provided a good service. Looking forward to playing it again in the near future.
I recommend this course
