    Great course

A great West Lothian course which for the time of year was in very good condition. The only area which let it down was the condition of the winter tee boxes which were very poor and looked like they had been there for many years and not repaired. You could not put a normal tee into the matt, which made it very difficult to play from them. If you play this course during the remaining winter period then remember to bring along the Dunlop type winter tee set. I look forward to returning in the warmer months.

    Best course in the county

Looking at the scorecard you'd be forgiven for thinking Greenburn is easily overpowered. Not the case. Big hitters will have lots of opportunities to hit short irons into greens IF they can hit fairways. That's a bit if. Accuracy is rewarded, and you'll have to be in play to hold the small challenging greens. Play the par 3's well and you should score well. That in itself is tough as the wind will need to be considered on all tee shots. Course in fantastic condition and greens running well. Good welcome in club house, and catering very reasonably priced. Greenburn has matured brilliantly over the years, with lots of work being completed to make the course drain very well.

Even the weather couldn't spoil it

Having not played Greenburn since the early 80s, I didn't know what to expect on my return last week. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, with strong winds and driving rain for the first 6 or 7 holes. But it's a very fair course, not overly long with a few challenging par 3s and 4s. Great value for money.
