This parkland course starts with an inviting front nine and ends with a slightly undulating back nine. The 4th, 5th and 8th feature ponds that will need negotiating in order to score well. The last six holes are a good test of golf and scores must be made before arriving on the 13th tee - a long uphill par 3 that requires the shot to be played as a fade to reach a tricky green. The next few holes feature the infamous burn that can catch out unknowing golfers and ruin a good card. The closing hole offers two options - it can be played as a good par 5 with the third shot over a burn to the green or, for the long hitters, there is the choice of going for the green in two risking a watery finish for an eagle putt.

Lovely course well laid out and given its location very scenic. Holes at the start and end of course were quite wet but given the time of year and weather beforehand still eminently playable. Greens were undergoing winter prep (15, 16, 17 on winters) that apart looked very good surface to put on. Staff were all very helpful and friendly in pro shop and in clubhouse, made very welcome, Excellent value and will be back for sure.
