Course Information

The Broomieknowe golf course is an excellent quality mature parkland, enjoying playable conditions all year round due to its free-draining ground. Redesigned by James Braid, the layout has benefited from one of the best minds in golf resulting in a testing course comprising of dogleg mid-length par 4s, testing approach play and some of the best par 3 holes in the area. In keeping with Braid’s design style the course is well bunkered, especially in the fairways and although over 6,000 yards it favours the shorter hitters. A great visitor course and friendly club open to all.

    Underrated parkland treat

This is one of the nicer parkland courses around—very comparable to the two better known Musselburgh courses, for example. The first three and last three holes are nothing much but otherwise there are some great holes to go with the pleasant surroundings.

    Poor organisation

Course was good however our tee off time was put back due to a medal being on. Personally I think they had double booked and were catering for members. Also course etiquette could be better as the group behind us kept hitting balls when we were waiting to play. Even though we took 3 hours 30 mins for a four ball. Left a sour taste.
