Course Information

With its elevated position high above the Firth of Forth and offering spectacular views of the sea, the Burntisland Golf Club provides an aesthetically pleasing round of golf. Golf has been played here since 1797 (historians believe even earlier), with the current course layout being designed by twice Open-champion - Willie Park Jnr and later updated in 1922 by James Braid. Homemade food is available in the clubhouse along with a full list of refreshments.

    nice wee track

We decided to get to the east coast as the weather was terrible post "storm Doris" - we were lucky to get a dry 17 holes, rained going down 18th. Given the heavy rain all week it was a bit wet and muddy underfoot and we played from matts - all to be expected for the time of year. I was surprised to get 17/18 full greens of which all were fantastic (again for time of year). lots of quirky little holes and although its a decent walk up and down hills it was not long or too difficult. I am keen to get back during the season to see it in its full glory and would recommend for a society day looking for an interesting course which is a fair test to golfers of all abilities.

    Great views

Greens had been spiked leaving them very bumpy...also was quite wet underfoot and could do with better signage for next hole etc. Great views and quite hilly...also a shared Green ⛳ Can't comment on clubhouse as this wasn't open, round was played at 11.30

    Great day

Would be a definite advantage to have played the course more than once. Sloping greens and strategically placed pot bunkers are always a danger for the less than accurate golfer. Score cards show all of the hazards clearly. Friendly welcome and good value food and drink in the clubhouse were a real bonus.
