Although only 5,993 yards from beginning to end the Burntisland Golf Course manages to pack in a great test of golf with hazards aplenty and course management a must if par is to be maintained. To make the most of the small area a number of the holes crisscross and despite its compact nature there are still a number of lengthy par 4s to overcome. Blind holes and deep bunkers add to the challenge as do Out of Bounds which in some cases are sheer drops where balls can be lost into an abyss. With regards to signature hole, it si worth mentioning the 10th which is a blind tee shot down a very steep hill.
Not a long course but an enjoyable technical layout which is kept to a very high standard and one which will keep you thinking throughout. The spectacular backdrop consisting of views over the Firth of Forth are worth the cost of a round alone.
