Well-known for its tough par 4s and immaculate greens, Omagh offers a test of golf that is unparalleled in West Tyrone. The Drumragh River features heavily through the front nine holes and it is imperative you plan your way round it carefully otherwise you may rack up quite a score. The back nine holes are superbly finished by a teasing par 4 along a stretch of forest, which offers spectacular views of Omagh and beyond. An extensive drainage operation in 2000 has enabled the club to boast a course that remains in wonderful condition for twelve months of the year.
Omagh Golf Club is located less than a mile from Omagh, easily accessible from Dublin Road.
Stopped to sample the Omagh course to break up our journey from Belfast to Dunfanaghy in Donegal. The course, especially the greens, was in good condition despite being very wet underfoot after heavy rain. Enjoyed the layout even with teeing up through the green. Well worth a visit but in dry weather if possible!
