This par 69 parkland course measures just shy of 6,000 yards, but surprisingly due to its layout it is common for the course to play more like a links. This trait can be seen on the 18th where the green is guarded by four treacherous pot-bunkers. The course provides spectacular views of the Mountains of Mourne and on a clear day you can even see the Isle of Man.
I was on holiday in the County Down area and decided to play this course based on some feedback I had received from friends. I was staying in Newcastle and was lined up to play Royal County Down and Ardglass, and so I was looking another course to play while in the area. I must say how this made a welcome change after the two days, yet still played quite like a links course. The course has some amazing views across the county Down area and was in excellent condition - especially the greens. The clubhouse was fairly modern and our meal after was of good quality and reasonably priced. I enjoyed my round and would definitely be back again. I'll be back in County Down and will be watching GolfNow for future deal on this place!
I recommend this course
