Course Information

What the famous course designer Dr. Alister MacKenzie has managed to do with the course at Cleckheaton & District is to use the available parkland area to create a track that encompasses the natural surroundings as well as providing an enjoyable challenge. This has meant that although fairly short by modern standards, at just under 6,000 yards, the course protects itself from low scores with its clever design and natural hazards. Add to this a prevailing wind that can alter club selection from a 9 iron to a metal wood dependant on its direction, and it’s easy to understand why the course deserves respect and strategy.

    Kirklees Gem

Played Cleckheaton 15th March and was thoroughly impressed with the standard of the course. The course flows really well, plays long and straight and rewards good tee shots. Greens are fast, consistent and well looked after. The Par 3's on 5 and 17 are lovely. Would highly recommend this course and can only imagine it will get better with sunshine ☀️

    "Good round of golf"

Played over the Xmas break in a four ball, fairway mats in use (good idea to save damage on the course). Overall the course was in great condition for the time of year and the drainage was very good. The new 19th looks really good, all positive on the day, the only small downside to this club for me is the 9th & 10th holes which seem to have been a slight afterthought! Overall really enjoyed the course and will be returning in the summer.
