The James Braid design at Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club starts and finishes with some quality clifftop golf with a good mix of parkland holes between. Undulating fairways and the odd tight tee-shot mean accuracy is key but, with gusting sea breezes, is not always routine. The short 7th, and back-to-back par 5s at the 8th and 9th, provide some respite before the testing holes that follow. The par 4, 10th and 12th holes play tricky, with the former requiring long, straight hitting and the latter a more accurate approach around a dogleg. Sandwiched between is a memorable par 3 that plays from an elevated tee over water to a tree-lined green. Once these holes have been negotiated the course winds its way back towards the sea with some birdie opportunities to finish with a good score.
Just 5 minutes north of Scarborough town centre.
6 of us booked through teeofftines .. turned up .terrible weather but we didn't mind ...we were the only ones on the course . Should have really been closed we did did ring up about winter wheels which wasn't required as course was okay , should have been informed it was winter greens .. nothing on tee off times or the club website ...disappointed as we traveled 1hr 45mins to get there for this . Wouldn't have botherd.. Course would be great in the summer great layout once you cross the road .. will give it another go in the summer..
I recommend this course
