Straight hitting and good course management are key to a successful round at Heworth. The course also boasts 4 of the toughest par 3s in the York area. This excellent parkland golf course is just over a mile away from York City centre and is typified by tight fairways, small greens to and a fantastic stock of mature and diverse trees. Although not a long course (6015 yards) it’s a definite test for golfers of all abilities.
Located just over 2 miles North East of York City Centre, easily accessed via the A1036.
Played the course today, considering the amount of rain we have recently the course was in really good condition, there was some standing water but that didnt spoil the round what so ever,we only had to play on 3 winter greens, which were okay, but the other greens were in excellent condition,i will be definitely making more visits to Heworth,
I recommend this course
A very pleasant part of the world, lovely people. Given the heavy recent rain the course held up pretty well BUT I was very disappointed when I realised this isn't actually an 18 hole course. It's more like a 12 hole course - you share fairways and greens and the tees on a dozen or so holes are the same. This made it rather tedious.
