This course may prove difficult for beginners; however it is well kept and has an excellent layout. Catterick has a parkland/moorland style feel to it, and incorporates the surrounding terrain extremely well with some natural hazards and well manicured bunkers cleverly protecting some of the enlarged greens. Catterick has invested wisely into a modern two story clubhouse that has all the golfers needs on the first floor and then a fantastic bar and restaurant on the top floor.
With rolling fairways that can punish even the best of drives and tricky greens, this course is definitely one for the more experienced golfer. The course has undergone a lot of development recently to ensure that its status as one of the more challenging courses in Yorkshire is maintained.
