Opened in 1995 the par 72 course at Farrington Park is named after the previous owner of the land, the Duchy of Cornwall. Although still relatively young in golfing terms the course has quickly bedded and matured into a popular choice in the county. With both trees and water to contend with throughout the 18 holes, both off the tee and on the approach, there is a great variety of both parkland and lakeland golf. On manoeuvring the ball past these hazards the USGA specification greens will test the best of putters with some challenging breaks on the undulating surface. Even with the abundance of water around the course, and the young nature of the design, the course is well known for its good drainage and playability all year round.
