Newquay Golf Club is one of Cornwall’s finest courses with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean. Built in 1890 the Harry Colt design stretches along the renowned Fistral Beach. In 1835 a mansion called The Tower was built on the grounds that included a private chapel and castellated tower. In 1906 the property was purchased by the golf club and became the clubhouse. Newquay Golf Club has also received the Royal seal of approval with the Prince of Wales and Prince Albert, who later became King George VI, spending many an enjoyable afternoon on the links to become honorary life members at the club from 1911 onwards.
Sitting alongside Fistral Beach this Harry Colt design could be one of his most scenic with views across the Atlantic. The classic links course is well known locally for its outstanding greens and tough challenge and has also received the Royal seal of approval with the Prince of Wales and Prince Albert both being honorary life members.
