Guildford Golf Club was established in 1886 as a 6-hole venue but quickly grew to the full 18 by the turn of the century. In 1925 the committee welcomed famous architects Taylor and Hawtree to the club and, two years later, a number of improvements were made based on their suggestions. The most recent modernisations were made by Howard Swan in 1997. The golf course is one of Surrey’s finest all-weather courses and the clubhouse has been improved and enlarged to meet the expectations of today’s golfers. The 19th Bar or Gallery Bar are excellent post-round environments, whilst the vibrant and comfortable patio terrace is perfect on a sunny day.
Guildford Golf Club is steeped in golf history and has had the talents of Taylor and Hawtree work on the course design. A superb all-weather, downland course with views of the City of London and Guildford Cathedral.
