    Good short notice golf

Good sunny day, however the course obviously suffers drainage problems, however for a March round it was not too bad. Some works going on that led to the course being a little untidy in places, but well managed access restrictions by buggy/ carts to the areas around the green. Pace was good. Nice layout, not overly long or challenging. Sad to see the absence of etiquette and lots of un repaired pitch marks. The ever present problem of a Pay and Play course I guess. Repair yours plus another remains my mantra, I did just that and often two marks, but many were left. Club house staff and on course team were friendly enough, but other users seemed rather cold, but again if Pay and Play is a bigger revenue than members the club feel is understandably absent. £18.00 ( inc booking fee ) is Excellent value to me, impotent as my partner has a bad back and we were concerned he would have to pull out. Half way house was closed which was a shame, and very few ball cleaning opportunities. Lacks the members club feeling, but this is the modern side of the game and where again the benefits of Pay and Play meet their limitation.
