Alresford Golf Course is an easy-walking downland course set on the slopes of Tichborne Down. This locality not only provides picturesque views of the Hampshire countryside, but also a free-draining course ideal for year-round play. The five tricky par 3s and narrow fairways ensure that the course is always a challenge. Stray too far from the fairway and you'll find that your approach shots to the small and well-guarded greens are a test of distance and accuracy.
Alresford Golf Club is located just over 7 miles from Winchester, easily accessible from junction 9 of the M3 via the A31.
Considering the time of year, a damp morning in mid-October, the course was in excellent condition and well maintained. Being situated on chalk downland - it's adjacent to the South Downs National Park - the course had no soggy patches. Tight fairways and numerous mature trees make demand a level of accuracy to clock up a good score. The clubhouse bar always has at least two well-kept real ales on draught, with quality coffee and no-alcohol beer for those concerned about their licence.
