Founded in 1877, making it the 3rd oldest club in Lancashire, Haydock Park Golf Club is one of the North West’s premier destinations. The course is one of only a few in the county that is home to an original James Braid design. The club’s most famous professional was Bill Shankland who graced the club in the 1930s. Shankland was one of the most gifted and versatile sportsmen on the planet with the Australian representing his country in Rugby League, Rugby Union, Swimming and Boxing not to mention finishing 3rd in the 1938 British Open at St Andrews. The club is proud of its history, and memorabilia can be found throughout the clubhouse.
Haydock Park Golf Club is the 3rd oldest in the county and one of the region’s premier venues. The James Braid track is locally known for its immaculate presentation and year-round playability while also providing a fairly stiff challenge.
