Founded in 1882, Manchester Golf Club has hosted numerous county and national golf events including the Lancashire Amateur open in 2011 and the 2013 Northern Counties Championship. The driving range has both grass bays and bays with mats for a bit of practice.
Manchester Golf Club is definitely not the easiest course in the area, which is one of the reasons it hosted the Lancashire Championships in 2011. The long and unforgiving fairways means that lower handicappers may prosper more than their counterparts, although the alternate tee boxes mean that the course is still suitable for golfers of all abilities.
