Sitting beside the Dee Estuary, and providing perfect views to the Welsh Hills, is the Heswall Golf Club. Its history spans back to 1902 and the track at Heswall has seen numerous high-profile course architects input into its design including the likes of Harry Vardon and Old Tom Morris. The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1926 after the original was destroyed by fire and has since seen a number of alterations and improvements, with the most recent carried out in 2005. The lounge bar with panoramic terrace looking out over the Dee Estuary is a great place to enjoy a drink, as is the spike bar.
With the combined design skills of Old Tom Morris, Harry Vardon and Donald Steel, amongst others, going into the layout of the Heswell Golf Course it is no surprise that this mixed links and parkland style course is a pleasure to play.
