The use of natural hazards such as brooks, streams and protected greens ensure that distance and ball control is key on Ellesmere Port Golf Course. The tree-lined fairways and thick woodland surroundings mean that accurate driving is essential to scoring well and those who sacrifice distance for accuracy will fare better. Pick your clubs wisely as going short or long on the greens will result in bogeys ruining your scorecard. The signature par 3, 17th requires a long accurate iron shot from the tee to the well-protected green, which features a brook running the length of the green - punishing those who come up short.
Ellesmere Port Golf Course is located just over 8 miles North of Chester, easily accessible via either the A41 or M53.
I've played here few times now. For £11 it's hard to beat. Great condition. Greens in good condition too. Def beats some of the more expensive courses in the area. Well worth a visit.
