The course at Seahouses Golf Club is a traditional flat-land links style. Prevailing winds, pot bunkers, wispy rough and the odd smattering of water gives for a superb links experience. The standard scratch of 68 at the club is rarely bettered proving great testament to the challenge that the course presents. Signature holes come in the shape of the 10th and 15th; two of the most prestigious par 3s in the North of England. The 10th is named ‘Logans Loch’ after the expanse of water that sits between the tee and the green. The 15th known as ‘The Cove’ is perched atop of a cliff with the beach and North Sea below acting as the out of bounds.
Less than an hour north of Newcastle, minutes off to A1.
The condition on the course and the greens was 1st class - very slick greens with enough borrow to move the ball away from the hole. The only bit we didn't like was shared fairways - it slowed things down and if the course was really busy it wouldn't be very good. You need to play the par 3s well to get a good score. The 10th & 15th over water and gullies will test most average golfers. A good day and good value for money
