The well-established parkland course is set in the grounds of the Fitzwilliam Estate, minutes from the centre of Peterborough. Although originally this was a 9-hole course for the personal use of Earl Fitzwilliam, it was later extended to 18 holes by the legendary course architect James Braid. The original thatched clubhouse still stands looking up the 13th fairway but is no longer used for its original purpose. The club now operates from a more modern clubhouse offering food and drink, and a halfway hut at the 9th which is ideal for grabbing a tea and a bacon sandwich mid-round.
The course at Peterborough Milton Golf Club is a fantastic example of a well-establish James Braid parkland design. The 18 holes have plenty of character and individuality that provide concentration and planning throughout.
