The course at Alfreton Golf Club is a great mix of parkland and woodland golf that is adjacent to Oakerthorpe Woods. Despite the short yardage most will find the course challenging with tight fairways and small greens. The course is always well kept which means the subtle borrows on the green can be even trickier to negotiate with the slick surfaces. Before reaching the greens numerous hazards must be avoided including a smattering of water and an array of strategically placed bunkers.
10 miles west of Mansfield just off the M1.
When we arrived the club house was closed and there was no members around this meant we did not have a club score card so because we booked on line we tooled up and set off, luckily my golf partner had got the course on his iPhone. The course itself was only just playable to be fare because of resent weather conditions but greens were in a very poor condition because none of the pitch marks had been visible repaired for a very long time we were not impressed and will probably not play there again.
